The auction rooms remained mostly quiet in the week before the election, with Bayleys marketing 18 Auckland homes for auction and selling eight of them, giving a sales clearance rate of 44%.
South of the Bombays, Bayleys achieved an almost identical result, auctioning homes in Hawke’s Bay, the Waikato and Hauraki Plains, achieving a sales rate of 43%.

Down the line a three bedroom cottage on just over one hectare of land just out of Putaruru sold for $325,000, and a 5512 square metre lifestyle section at Eskdale north of Napier sold for $525,000.
