Bayleys’ auction action was in Auckland and Hawkes Bay last week, with eight Hawkes Bay properties offered for sale, of which five sold under the hammer, giving a clearance rate of 63%.
Prices in Hawkes Bay ranged from $295,000 for an early 1900s cottage on 1075 square metre section, to $857,000 for a four bedroom executive home on a 2.2hectare lifestyle block near Havelock North.
In Auckland 34 homes were auctioned, with 19 selling under the hammer and 15 being passed in for sale by negotiation, giving a clearance rate of 56%.
The cheapest property sold was a three bedroom terrace house at Glen Eden in west Auckland which went for $545,000 and the most expensive was a four bedroom 1980s cedar and tile house on a compact section in Remuera that fetched $2.151 million.There were also a couple of character bungalows put up for auction, one at Glen Eden with four bedrooms which went for $750,000 and the other with two bedrooms at Stanmore Bay which sold for $715,000.
